Punta Gorda Dive Site
On the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica is a well-known dive site known as Punta Gorda.
Located four miles (6 km) to the west of Playa Ocotal, the site is especially known for its large pelagics, like most of the scuba diving spots on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. Most memorably, giant schools of eagle rays have been seen here, and it’s the principal allure of the Punta Gorda site.

The water isn’t particularly clear on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, but many find the diving worth it because there are so many large species of ocean fish, whales, dolphins, etc. Plus, the water is very warm all year and you wouldn’t even need a wet suit except for the depth.
