Buceo Gavilana Dive Centre

centre Located 2 kilometers from the beach in a place called Las Delicias near the entrance of Playa Garza Cerca de Nosara in Guanacaste, Buceo Gavilana Dive Centre is both a CMAS and PADI Facility that is being run by Belgian dive professionals.

Its diving assets includes new diving equipment for rent, a pile of scuba tanks and a BAUER vertical compressor that can fill an 80 cu.ft. scuba tank in 8 minutes. This means that there is always a dive equipment and tank for every diver even on a peak season.
30687_b Taking you to all the dive sites is their 26-footer boat that has been modified and designed specifically for diving. It has a twin 140 hP Suzuki motor that can take you to a dive site in less than 10 minutes.

As for their guests’ accommodation, they have partnered with local hotels which has a great beach scenery and a friendly customer service. They have also partnered with ecotour operators where you can go horseback riding, sports fishing and canopy or quadbike tours.

Local Dive in Playa Garza

Price for a 2-tank dive: $80 (with equipment) – $105 (without equipment)

The dive tours they usually offer are within the vicinity of Playa Garza. One of your options is to go wreck diving in a nearby 20-meter deep dive site where you can see corals encrusting the wrecks structure, multiple species of fish including whitetip sharks. You can expect to see manta rays in some dive sites or dolphins at the surface. If you happen to have a booking with them from December to January, you might as well visit the nearby turtle nesting site in Ostional where hundreds of gravid sea turtles flock the beach to lay their eggs.

10-dives Package

Price: $360 (with equipment) – $470 (without equipment)

Discover Scuba Package

Price: $200

This non-certification course allows you to go diving not more than 40 feet and with the supervision of a dive instructor. The package includes half day of classroom lecture and swimming pool session plus 2 open water dives.

Scuba Certification

Open Water Scuba Diver

Price: $550

Except for the swimming pool session which you will do it on person, you can do the classroom lecture using the e-learning system of PADI. After which, you will be exposed and dive in an Open Water environment where you can apply all the skills you have learned.

Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver

Price: $550

This course will teach you advance diving skills and will be required to do 4 advanced dives like night diving, deep diving, multi-level diving, underwater navigation where you have the option to enroll in specialty courses like Wreck Diver and Drift diver to name a few.
