Rocket Frog opened its doors in December
of 2011. Rocket Frog operates a purpose built dive vessel, “The Pacific Express” which is the
fastest boat in the area. The Pacific Express uses twin 300 HP Yamaha outboard motors to power
its inflatable ribbed body through the waters of the Gulf de Papagayo with speed and comfort.

Rocket Frog Divers has an ownership team that is incredibly involved in every aspect of the
business. Michael, Nere, and Flaco form the team. If you go diving with Rocket Frog chances are
you will see two if not three of the owners during your dive. This ensures you are treated with
the best customer service and your questions and concerns are answered immediately.

Our Dive Sites

Rocket Frog Divers specializes in three main areas of diving in the Costa Rican waters. The
Catalinas and the Bat Islands are the higher class diving areas where you are more likely to
see the big ticket items such as the Giant Manta Rays (Catalinas) and Bull Sharks (Bat Islands).
There is also of course the famous local diving done in the waters of the Gulf de Papagayo. You
can really see any number of things during the dives here. From the occasional manta rays and
more plentiful white tip reef sharks to clown shrimp and sea horses these rich waters have it all.

Rocket Frog Divers will work with its customers to show them new dive sites (there are over 20
local dives sites) or their old favourites depending on their choice.

Diving the Bat Islands

Rocket Frog is the only dive shop in Costa Rica who is able to offer trips to the Bat Islands year
round. Our dive vessel is perfectly designed for handling these waters which can become quite
rough during the months from December until May.

The Bat Islands are famous for the possibility of encountering the often feared bull shark. It is
a protected area of Costa Rica which is located just off the coast of Santa Rosa National Park.
Being protected has served the area well, as you will see massive schools of big fish and rays
that frequent these waters that you will not see at any other dive sites in Costa Rica. Rocket Frog
can take you to and from the Bat Islands in half of the time that any other dive shop in the area
can (45 to 60 minutes) due to our dive vessel and our location.

Starting in May of 2013, Rocket Frog will also begin offering two day excursions where divers
will have the opportunity to complete five dives and spend one night camping in the National Park.
These dives are generally only for experienced divers.

Diving The Catalinas

Rocket Frog also loves taking its customers to the beautiful Catalina Islands. The Catalinas are
best known by divers for the Pacific Giant Mantas which are often found feeding in the area.
The waters are also rich with several other species of rays, sharks, eels and big schools of fish.
Rocket Frog Divers makes this trip in approximately half an hour from our location at Playa
Ocotal.

Other Activities

Rocket Frog Divers also offers snorkelling options as well as sunset snorkelling tours.

Contact
