Ocotal Diving

Ocotal Diving is a PADI five-star Golden Palm Beach and Resort located in Ocotal in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. The dive center is right on the beach offering courses that range from introductory to PADI level professional ones. They are fully equipped with high-quality scuba diving appliances. The dive operator leaves for scuba around 8:30 a.m. for afternoon dives and for evening dives they leave from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. according to the wishes of the clients. Ocotal Diving arranges for accommodations that are convenient for you. They also provide transportation. The staff is bi-lingual; fluent in English and Spanish, and the guides are certified PADI dive masters. The facilities of Ocotal Diving are vast with a capability of handling more than 60 dives per day. They have five 32-feet boats that are fully geared. The boats have racks for tanks, ladders to allow you to climb up from the dive boats easily, platforms, fine marine toilets and cool, shaded areas. Each boat takes 10 divers at most who include two guides and a dive master. On the trips, you will have access to bottled waters, juices, soft drinks, fruits and snacks. Along with local dives at Ocotal, other diving destinations are the sublime Bats and Catalina Islands where the crystal clear waters are abundant with wildlife.

Local Dives at Ocotal

Explore the wondrous aquatic world during the afternoon Boat Dives for only $80.00 that include 2 tanks, boat, guide and weights. Night is the time where most of the marine creatures are actively swimming about. Have a fine encounter with exotic fishes, octopuses, sharks, whales, dolphins, sea-turtles and let’s not forget the smaller ones like sea-horses, jelly-fishes and nudibranchs. The night dives costs $65:00 including 1 tank, guide and weights. For those who prefer to snorkel, take a snorkel package for $50.00. Equipment is included. All charges are to be paid in US dollars. The rates are only valid until January 2013. Due to high demands, reservations are highly advised.

Dives at Catalina and Bats Islands

Unlike local dives, diving at Catalina and Bats Islands requires some previous experience. The trips are made daily with a minimum of four divers. The ocean around the isles are profuse with all sorts of marine animals such as Bull Sharks, Giant Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, Cow Nose Rays, Devil Rays and much more.

Long range diving at Catalina Island for $125.00

Long range diving at Bats Island for $150.00

 

Along with adventure diving, Ocotal Diving also offers PADI certification courses. They are open water, advanced open water, rescue diver, dive-master and specialty courses. Specialty courses contain 8 hours long course of First Aid for $95:00, Deep Diver (3 Dives) for $195.00, Night Diver (3 Dives) for $195.00, 6 hours long session of Equipment Specialist for $155.00, Peak Performance Buoyancy (2 Dives) for $120.00, 4 hours long Project AWARE Specialty Program for just $45.00, and Underwater Navigator (3 Dives) for $160.00.
